Varsity Fencing

Fencing is the perfect blend of everything I love: split-second decisions, strategic thinking, and the pure rush of going toe-to-toe with an opponent.

Since middle school, I’ve trained biweekly at my local fencing club and competed in regional and national competitions. In high school, I joined my school’s Varsity Fencing Team, where I’ve served as Captain for the past two years. Leading the team has been incredibly rewarding—not just in developing my own skills, but in mentoring younger fencers, building team culture, and watching teammates grow in confidence and ability. Every match is unpredictable, requiring us to adapt, problem-solve, and find creative solutions under pressure. As a captain, I've learned that leadership isn't just about individual performance; it's about fostering an environment where everyone pushes one another to be better, on and off the strip.
