Music
Music is my source of joy and balance. Whether I'm performing in weekly studio classes at Juilliard Pre-College, playing in orchestral ensembles, or working through my favorite pieces just for the love of it, music is where I feel most alive. It's taught me discipline and resilience through countless hours in the practice room, sharpening my focus and persistence in ways that carry into everything I do.
But what I love most about music is its power to connect people beyond words. Through the Joyful Youth Musical Alliance (JYMA), the nonprofit organization I founded, I've brought that connection to communities across Westchester and Long Island: performing in senior homes, community centers, and public venues, raising funds for music education, and seeing audiences light up during our "Harmony in Community" concert series. Music is how I give back, bridge generations, and create moments of shared joy that remind me why I started playing in the first place.

2024 All-State Symphony Orchestra
In December 2024, I was selected as first-chair violist for the New York All-State Symphony Orchestra from a pool of over 6,000 applicants statewide. I had the opportunity to perform in Kodak Hall at the Eastman School of Music under the direction of Helen Cha-Pyo, where we explored the vivid storytelling of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade and the contemporary energy of James Ra's Ring O' Bells. The experience taught me how to adapt quickly to a new conductor's vision, blend with musicians I'd just met, and rise to the level of artistry expected at this caliber. Being the sole representative from my school added an extra layer of pride and responsibility to the experience.
Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra
I am a violist in the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, where I have the chance to perform incredible symphonic repertoire from all eras of classical music alongside talented musicians. Some of the works I’ve played include Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10 in E minor, Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, and many other contemporary, romantic, and classical works. I’ve also had the opportunity to perform in the world premiere of Patrice Rushen’s Keepers of the Krown, a dynamic and fun modern composition. I’m also honored to have been able to perform under renowned MET Opera Conductor Daniele Rustioni, who was our guest conductor for the first cycle. Being in PCO has taught me the importance of nuance in orchestral playing; every gesture, every dynamic shift, and every balance adjustment matters when you're part of something larger than yourself.
2025 All-State String Orchestra
In December 2025, I returned to All-State as first-chair violist for the String Orchestra, again selected from over 6,000 applicants across New York. Performing under conductor Anthony Elliott in Kodak Hall, we dove into Britten's Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge—a work that demands both technical precision and emotional depth from every section. This second year at All-State reinforced what I love most about orchestral music: the challenge of interpreting complex repertoire in a short amount of time and the thrill of creating something powerful alongside musicians who share the same dedication.
